Collection 01, this one is about a beginning.
That moment when you pick up the pen and write the first page of a new chapter.
But the truth is, a new story very rarely comes from nowhere, it is the culmination of the ones before.
My story is much the same, I sit here now in workshop I have been able to build with the advice and guidance of my fellow makers. The skills I learn as craft each frame are the skills of others, teachers that have passed on the knowledge they too were given. That’s the thing about craftspeople they represent the skills of the ones before and preserve them for the ones that come after.
Making doesn’t happen alone, it is how we build communities.
To be part of a craft and its culture is to commit to listening and telling its stories, with the hope that one day they will be retold.
This collection of frames is dedicated to the stories of those that got me here.
